Achieving Superplasticity in Fine-Grained Al-Mg-Sc Alloys

چکیده

Superplasticity denotes the ability of a limited number materials to achieve exceptionally high tensile elongations at least 400%. Experiments show that Al-Mg-Sc alloys provide excellent capabilities for achieving superplastic flow and also they can be formed easily in biaxial forming operations. It is important, therefore, examine mechanism when alloy prepared using different procedures. This report examines characteristics these after preparation without subjecting any severe plastic deformation (SPD), processing two SPD procedures equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) high-pressure torsion (HPT) alternative procedure friction stir (FSP). The results are compared each technique examined with reference theoretical model was developed specifically conventional alloys.
